Walter Russell Mead is the Ravenel B. Carey III Distinguished Fellow in Technique and Statecraft on the Hudson Institute, a columnist for The Wall Road Journal, and the James Clark Chase Professor of International Affairs and the Humanities at Bard Faculty in New York.

He’s additionally a member of the Aspen Institute in Italy and a member of the Aspenia Board of Administrators. Earlier than becoming a member of Hudson, Mr. Mead was a fellow on the Council on International Relations because the Henry Kissinger Senior Fellow for American International Coverage. He has authored a number of books, together with the broadly acclaimed Windfall: American International Coverage and How It Modified the World (Alfred A. Knopf, 2004).
